Blog 9 - Family Member Elected to Office

If I could elect any of my family members to any type of public office, I would absolutely without a doubt elect my dad for President.

I choose my dad because he is the smartest man I know. He is not only intelligent, but he is likeable, reasonable, and he is extremely organized. My father has, in the past, organized countless information for various different jobs. For me, he even created a binder full of college information. It has color coded tabs for each college, and all of the information about them is in alphabetical order. If he can do that with a few pieces of paper from colleges, he can do wonders with things that are more important.

If my father really became President, it would not be too fun. While it would be awesome to say “My dad is President of the United States!,” it would be no fun when he had to start focusing all his time on politics and those matters. But, considering this is not going to happen any time soon, I can picture my dad doing whatever he wants.

My dad is the type of person that over thinks everything. In a position of President, however, this could work to his advantage. Not only could he turn around the economy, but he would make every aspect of life fair to each and every person living in the United States. My dad would have a separate plan to reform each suffering aspect of the US. He would start with the worst sections and improve each and every one.

I think if my dad was on the ballets he would definitely be voted for. My dad has good ideas about everything. His ideas about important politics are the most interesting to hear. He could talk for hours about plans on how to change things and make them better for everyone. My dad is a likeable guy, and he knows how to tell people his theories in a way that will have you listening for hours talking about things that would otherwise be unimportant.

I used to think that politics were boring and a waste of time, but in all honesty politics in the US have a huge impact on my life. Not only are politics important because I am getting older and approaching my college years, but for the fact that I am seventeen years old, and in about two months and five days, I will be eighteen years old. I will legally be allowed to vote. My first problem is that I have no idea who I would vote for. I would really like to research each candidate and see what types of issues we agree on. In this case, I could just listen to my dad go on a tangent about politics for a few minutes and I would be more understanding towards the candidates worth voting for. Now, if my dad was on the ballet, there would be no question that I would vote for him.
